Checking the battery life of your AirPods on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac is as simple as pulling your phone out of your pocket and looking at the screen. Unfortunately, using third-party apps is the only way to check AirPods battery life on Android and Windows devices.
Note: On iOS and Mac, you hear a sound when the battery is low. The first time is when the charge is at 10%, and the second time is a few seconds before the AirPods turn off.
Check your AirPods battery life on iPhone and iPad
Checking your AirPods battery life on the iPhone and iPad is simple:
Open your AirPods case and bring it near your phone or tablet. The battery life of the AirPods, as well as of the case, will automatically show up on the screen.

Optional: add a homepage widget that shows your Airpods battery life
You can add a battery info widget on your home screen to check your AirPods battery life. Here’s how you can do it:

Tap and hold anywhere on the Home Screen until the app icons start to shake.

On iOS 16 and above, you can add the battery widget to your Lock Screen. Follow these steps:

The widget will now display the battery life of other Apple devices close to you. If you want it always specifically to show your AirPods battery life, tap the widget to open its Settings.

- Like for iPhone and iPad, open your AirPods case and bring it close to your Mac.
- On your Mac, click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar.
Click the Bluetooth icon. -
Your AirPods will be highlighted yellow, and you’ll be able to see the battery life beneath the name of your AirPods.
AirPods battery life will be displayed under their name.
Check your AirPods battery life on Windows
You will have to use a third-party app. A popular one is MagicPods – it costs $1.99 but has a trial version that you can use for free. It displays the battery life of your AirPods the same way it’s shown on iOS devices.
After installing the app, open the case’s lid, and bring it near your Windows computer. The battery percentage will be displayed on the screen.

Check your AirPods battery life on Android
You must download a third-party app to view your AirPods battery life on Android. MaterialPods is a popular one that allows you to display the battery life in a widget on your home screen. It will also display the battery life if you open the AirPods case while its near your phone.
