When too many apps are running in the background, your iPhone can become slow. And let’s not forget how frustrating it can be when an app or game gets stuck and doesn’t respond.
There are two ways to close apps on your iPhone, depending on your model. Let’s take a look at what they are.
Close apps on iPhone X and above
- Since there is no home button on the more recent iPhone models, you have to swipe up from the bottom to see all the apps that are currently running.
- Swipe through the apps to and look for the one you want to close.
- Once you’ve found the app you want to close, simply swipe up on it until it disappears from the screen.
- After closing the apps, tap anywhere around the floating apps to go back to the home screen.
Close apps on iPhone 8 and below
Closing apps on iPhone 8 or below requires the same steps as above. The only difference is that you have to press the home button twice to open the app switcher, I.e, the screen where you can see all the apps that are currently running.
Once you’re done closing the apps, you can either tap on the screen or press the home button to go back to the home screen.
