How to Find Recently Deleted Photos on iPhone

Deleting photos on the iPhone doesn’t make them disappear forever. They still remain in your Photos app and iCloud for 30 days after you delete them.

In this guide, we take a look at where you can find recently deleted photos on your iPhone.

Recently Deleted Album in the Photos App

When you delete a photo on the iPhone, it goes into your “Recently Deleted” album and stays there for 30 days. If you delete the photos again from the Recently Deleted album, they’re deleted permanently.

Here’s how to find the “Recently Deleted” folder:

  1. On the Home Screen, tap Photos.

    Photos App on the iPhone
    Tap Photos.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Recently Deleted. This folder will contain every photo that you’ve deleted in the past 30 days.

You can find the Recently Deleted album on iCloud, too.

Note: It’s the same Recently Deleted folder that’s on the Photos app, which means if you delete recently deleted photos through the app, they’ll be gone from your iCloud account, too.

  1. Tap Safari (or the browser that you prefer).

    Tap Safari.

  2. Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
