How to Mirror Your iPhone Screen to TV

You can use several methods to mirror your iPhone screen to a TV. The easiest way is using AirPlay, a screen mirroring feature on your iPhone. Apart from AirPlay, you can also use Roku, Chromecast, or a wired connection.

Mirror iPhone Screen to TV using Airplay

AirPlay makes it very convenient to mirror your iPhone screen to the TV. First, make sure your TV supports Airplay. Also, make sure your TV and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Then, follow these steps on iPhone:

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center.

  2. Tap and hold the Screen Mirroring icon.

  3. Your streaming device will appear in the Screen Mirroring window.

  4. When a code appears on your TV, enter it on your iPhone.

Mirror iPhone Screen to a Roku TV

There are two ways to mirror your iPhone screen to your Roku device.

Using Airplay

If the device supports AirPlay, you can follow the steps discussed above to mirror your iPhone screen.

The following Roku devices support AirPlay:

  • Roku Ultra

  • Roku Streaming Stick+

  • Roku Streambar

  • Roku Express

  • Roku Smart Soundbar

  • Roku TV models Axxxx, Cxxxx, CxxGB, and 7xxxx.

Using the Roku app

If you have a Roku TV that doesn’t support AirPlay, you can mirror your iPhone screen using the Roku app.

Unfortunately, the app is only available in Argentina, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, the U.K, and the U.S.

Mirror iPhone Screen to TV using Chromecast

This method only works for TVs that support Chromecast. Download the Google Home app on your iPhone. The app will automatically detect your Chromecast device and connect it to your iPhone.

Once you’ve linked both devices, tap on the Chromecast casting symbol when watching a video, and it will start streaming on TV.

Note: Google Home app only allows you to mirror the iPhone screen when watching a video. If you want to mirror your screen when browsing or using another app, you’ll have to download a third-party app such as Replica. Replica allows you to broadcast your iPhone screen to your Chromecast device even when not watching videos.

Mirror iPhone Screen to TV using a Wired Connection

You’ll need an HDMI cable and a Lightning to Digital AV adapter for your iPhone. If you have a TV that doesn’t have an HDMI port, you can also use a Lightning to VGA adapter for your iPhone.

  1. Plug in the Lightning to Digital AV Adapter to your iPhone
  2. Connect the HDMI cable to the adapter.
  3. Plug in the HDMI cable to your TV. You will see your iPhone screen on the TV.
  4. If the resolution on the TV looks a bit off, your iPhone should automatically adjust it when displaying photos and videos.
