Clipboards are temporary storage spaces where text is stored when it is copied or cut. By default, the clipboard function on most Android phones only shows the most recent entry. But then, what’s the best way to access texts you saved earlier in the day or the day before? Let’s find out!
Use the Default Clipboard Option
Android phones have a dedicated clipboard option that makes viewing clipboard history easy.
Here is how to access it:
- Head over to any text app where you want to paste the item from the clipboard.
- Click on the text field and hold it.
- Select the Clipboard option.
- You should now be able to see the clipboard history on the keyboard.
Use Gboard
You can also use a third-party application to view the clipboard history if your default keyboard does not have that option.
For this method, you must install the Gboard on your Android phone.
Here is how you can proceed:
- Launch Play Store and type Gboard in the search bar.
- Click on the Install button for it.
- Once the app is installed, click on it to launch it and choose Enable in settings.
- Turn the toggle on for Gboard in the following window.
- Now, you will be prompted to choose an input method. Choose Gboard from the list of options available.
- Once done, Gboard will be set as your default keyboard.
- Next, head over to any text app where you want to paste the item from the clipboard.
- Click on the text field and hold it.
- Select the clipboard icon on the keyboard.
- You should now be able to see the clipboard history.
- To select an item for pasting, click on it.
That’s it! You should be able to view the clipboard history and use the saved items successfully with these steps.
